Another day, another update for the Happy Hunter Trading System! So, how did the two Variants fare during the last trading day of the month?
Volatility finally picked up a bit on July 31 and there were even clear intraday trends.
However, volatility was still abnormally low since the day’s range on July 31 was only 99 pips. In addition, intraday price action was also a bit choppy, especially during the first half.
In other words, trading conditions were still unfavorable for the (not so) Happy Hunter.
The increase in volatility was enough for the Fixed TP Variant to pare some of its losses for the month, though. Still, it’s rather sad that the Variant closed out the month with a 2.98% loss (-3.24% previous), which is the Variant’s worst ever monthly performance and is the second losing month since forward testing began in February of this year.
The lack of strong trends, meanwhile, meant that the Trailing Variant was forced to dig a deeper hole and finished the month with a 3.62% loss (-3.31% previous), which is already disappointing enough, but becomes even more disappointing when we consider that the Variant was up by 6.20% for the month at one point.

Also, if you’re wondering what the numbers on the charts are about, they refer to the trade #, based on the chronological order when the signal was generated, not necessarily when the trade was executed.
Oh, also note that you can find the details of each trade in the tables below the chart. If the table is too small to read, just remember that you can click on it to enlarge it.
