What a pity… My breakout trade idea was correct, but I the direction I chose was wrong! Instead of bursting upwards, USDCAD dropped like a rock and broke the rising trend line support. Boo! Time to close my open orders!

Good afternoon! It looks like I didn’t get the retracement I was looking for to go long EURUSD as traders came back from barbeque and fireworks ready to buy! Is it too late to buy??

The USD/JPY has sold-off and transitioned into a distribution cycle which from my experience can be an *account killer* unless you make the proper adjustments to price movement expectation. Usually in distribution, prices will exhaust at near-term highs and lows

Wowzers! I went to bed with a nice gain on my trade only to wake up with a nice punch in the face from the FX markets. Has the “Risk”-to-US Dollar relationship changed?

My trade looked good for awhile, but once the US session rolled around, we saw another round of selling take place! It’s all good though, my risk is well managed, which means I can fight another day.

D’oh! EURCHF hit my manually placed trailing stop at 1.3250 when it pulled back up yesterday. Still, a win is a win, +60 pips for me! Boo yeah!

Taking advantage of the 1.5000 breakdown can be taken now on shorter-term time frames like the 15-minute. This way if the 1.4900 level is stacked with buying support the 15-minute is a short enough time frame that adjustments can be taken quickly.

The GBP/USD has broken lower through the major 1.5000 psychological level as the 15, 30, and 60-minute intraday time frames are showing a mark down cycle. The initial break accelerated through 1.5030.

Phew! Those were close calls! Thanks to my system rules, I was able to avoid two potential losses!

Sadly, the bears were too aggressive on this one and did not let the pair retrace high enough to reach my entry point. Because the pair has made a new swing low, I need to close any open orders that I have.

It looks like I couldn’t catch a break on this trade as it seem traders took the proposed austerity measures in the UK as a good sign to buy up British Pounds

Ouchies. No thanks to the weaker-than-expected Canadian retail sales, the USDCAD broke out of its descending channel and reached a new two-week high. Needless to say, I got stopped out.

D’oh! I guess I was a little too confident that the pair would keep rising and I should have closed earlier when I had a chance!

Oh, so I did jinx myself! To be honest though, I don’t feel so bad even if I got stopped out at breakeven because I believe it was the right thing to do.

With the return of risk appetite, the euro continued its nice run this past week, now up 500 pips from the lows earlier this month. Unfortunately for me, I haven’t been able to get in on this reversal! The EURUSD has been rising and rising and rising…

Talk about being aggressive! Despite my earlier-than-usual sell order, I was still unable to get triggered. Risk appetite was turned out to be too strong, which traders sufficient reason to sell the USDCAD without letting it retrace.

The 15-minute GBP/USD has consolidated into a narrow trading range between resistance at 1.4787 and 1.4772 and support between 1.4729 and 1.4722.

Aww man! So much for waiting for a breakdown on that bearish flag… It broke to the upside instead!
