What a week for the euro, eh? Not only did it sink against the dollar, but it weakened against the rest of the majors as well! Could we see a repeat performance this week?

So much for starting the year right! I just incurred my first loss for 2012 with my GBP/USD trade. Boo!

Awww yeah! I’m lovin’ 2012 already! I managed to bag a total of 280 pips on my first trade of the year! Check it out!

If you remember, one the things I promised to do going into the 2012 was to scrap (or at least tweak) the HLHB Trend Catcher. I noted that the Trend Catcher, while it had some nice trades, wasn’t at all filtering the fakeouts.

It’s just a correction folks, keep walking, nothing to see here. The uptrend is still intact. But for your doubters, let’s take a closer look.

Good morning forex friends! With 2011 quickly winding down and trading pretty much a wrap for the year, it’s time to do the most beloved (or hated) of trading tasks: reflecting on your trading performance. I’ll share with you an example of how I reflect in hopes that it will help you do your own. Check it!

To say that trading was wild on cross-currency pairs this year would be an understatement. Despite the choppiness in the markets, I don’t think I fared too badly at all. Here’s a recap of my trading for 2011.

Before I bid farewell to the year that was, I decided to take a short walk down memory lane to give you a review of my trading performance and the lessons I learned throughout 2011. Do any of these trading lessons ring a bell to you?

Resistance at around 122.20 didn’t hold this time around, and unfortunately, my GBP/JPY position got stopped out. Not quite how I wanted to end the year, but good thing I didn’t risk too much on this trade!

Overall, 2011 was a good year for me. I may not have found a boyfriend but at least I’m ending it with my trading account in the green. Yay! Besides, who needs a boyfriend anyway??
