Another day, another update for the Happy Hunter Trading System! So, how did the two Variants fare in the most recent hunt?
Volatility picked up a bit on August 14 and there were also three intraday trends on GBP/NZD’s 1-hour, so overall trading conditions improved.
And fortunately, the system was able to generate trades in the direction of those intraday trends.
GBP/NZD’s price action on August 14 was more suited to the Fixed TP Variant’s momentum-based design, though, so the Fixed TP Variant was able to wipe out the previous day’s losses and is now up by 2.87% for the month (+1.15% previous), which happens to be a new high water mark.
As for the Trailing Variant, well, three intraday trends, relatively low volatility, and relatively large hourly candles made it hard for the Trailing Variant to hold onto its gains. In fact, all of the Trailing Variant’s winning trades were closed below TP.
Still, the Trailing Variant did profit on the day, so it regained some lost ground and is now up by 6.63% for the month (+6.12% previous). It’s still a long distance away from its high water mark of+8.27%, though, which is kinda sad.

By the way, if you’re a first-time reader and have no idea what this is all about, then just know that I’m forward testing a purely mechanical trading system.
And if you find that interesting, then you may wanna click on the links below to read about and understand the rules of the system.

Also, if you’re wondering what the numbers on the charts are about, they refer to the trade #, based on the chronological order when the signal was generated, not necessarily when the trade was executed.
Oh, also note that you can find the details of each trade in the tables below the chart. If the table is too small to read, just remember that you can click on it to enlarge it.
