Good morning forex friends! Well, it looks like once again I had a good idea that went my way, but going for big pips kept me from closing with some sure pips on EUR/CAD. Here’s how it all played out.

Oh dear, my trailing stop on my AUD/USD short just got hit at 1.0300. I’m not complaining though as this means I’ve bagged 200 pips on this one! Yipee!

No matter how much weak euro zone data was thrown at it, euro bulls held strong and 1.3000 never really broke! Given the odd strength of the euro, I decided to reduce my risk and close it all down.

What a volatile week! Currencies were just all over the place! One day, higher-yielding currencies were up on risk appetite. Then on the next, they suddenly drop like rocks due to risk aversion. Grrr!

Woohoo! The HLHB Trend-Catcher finishes the week with a gain on BOTH EUR/USD and GBP/USD!

Don’t you hate it when you’re both right and wrong about a trade? That was essentially the case as my directional bias and UK data expectations were negated by a misadjusted stop and a lot of volatility.

The market is so dang volatile this week! After rising on Tuesday, EUR/USD dropped like a rock in yesterday’s trading. Pip Diddy said that the almost-200-pip decline was caused by remarks from an ECB official saying that the central bank could cut rates. Ugh!
