Got another batch of early exits on this mechanical trading system, but luckily these caught some wins. Take a look at how the positions turned out!

If this is the first time you’re reading about the SMA Crossover Pullback system, make sure you look at the trading rules and risk management adjustments first.

EUR/USD had a short position left open in the previous update, and this one is still going. Bearish momentum seems to be slowing, though, so it looks like it might be closed on a new crossover soon.

Cable also had a short position that gained more bearish traction, enough to have its trailing stop in play as price fell more than 150 pips from entry. This adjusted stop loss got hit on a pullback, scoring a few gains for the pair.

EUR/JPY also had a short position left open, but the pair was in the mood for sideways price action so it was closed on a new crossover for a small gain.

So far there has been no stochastic pullback signal for a long position just yet, but I can’t help but worry that this might lead to yet another early exit.

Here’s how it all turned out:

Trade Summary:

SMA Crossover Pullback Positions as of February 19, 2019
Pair Position Entry SL PT Status Pips %
GBP/USD Short 1.2954 1.3014 1.2654 Closed +29 +0.19
EUR/USD Short 1.1337 1.1487 1.1037 Open
EUR/JPY Short 124.73 126.23 121.73 Closed +10 +0.06

With that, the SMA Crossover Pullback System ended the week with a decent 39-pip or 0.25% gain on the account. Not bad for a bunch of early exits!

Only EUR/USD has a short position left open now, but it looks like it might be closed on a new crossover, too. Of course it would’ve been better if the pairs gained solid momentum on their selloff, but this robot’s still pretty happy with these tiny gains rather than three big losses. Phew!
