Today’s update is as much about Fibonacci Retracement and Extension levels as it looking what the U.S. Dollar Index may do next.

I haven’t received so many requests as I did regarding the gold move. It was dramatic sure, but what I was struck by was the interest in how the move could have been traded. I know that sounds funny but let me explain

I just recorded this video and it’s a look ahead at the Sunday open as well as early Monday set ups that I’ll be watching…

This is a look at the USD/CAD as it rocketed higher in the midst of what has to be considered still a bearish environment. I discuss the set ups – both short and long-term – that I am watching and the reason for my hesitancy to get too bullish.

In this nine-minute video I somehow manage to discuss the Dow’s ceiling, crude oil’s break of the century mark and the fundamentals surrounding it, as well as the set up I am seeing on the USD/CAD and how great it is that the intraday time frames are in “slop”.

I see the EUR/USD in a state of transition and not to be left out…I see the U.S. Dollar Index in the same transition. While the EUR/USD is moving sideways at the BOTTOM of its range, the greenback is doing it at the TOP of its uptrend.

The EUR/USD has a number of hurdles to overcome before a ceiling it established. I am looking for a ceiling – for now – since the market trend has transitioned into a sideways range. IT IS early in the transition but a “V” bottom is unlikely here with the underlying fundamental picture and the 1.3050 to 1.3200 area is a thick layer of resistance.

…here we are again, another pullback within the context of what is still an uptrend. This time however I am going to be a little more cautious about my upside expectations. I still expect there to be support within the 34EMA Wave however I am concerned about the ability for the greenback to press to higher highs

It’s just a correction folks, keep walking, nothing to see here. The uptrend is still intact. But for your doubters, let’s take a closer look.
