I’m back with fresh signals on this mech system after a quick break to crunch the Q1 2019 numbers. Here’s how the strategy is doing recently.
In this revised version of the Short-Term Bollinger Reversion Strategy, I’m waiting for RSI to cross above or below oversold or overbought levels to indicate a bit more momentum in the direction of the trade. Make sure you review the tweaks here.
USD/CAD scored a full win at the start of this month, but was unable to follow through with more in the next couple of weeks. Heck, there were no new signals even though price was moving sideways the entire time!
CAD/CHF, on the other hand, showed a completely different story as it caught several signals on the bounces off the top band.
Here’s how those positions turned out:
Summing all these pips up yields a meager 1.5-pip gain or a 0.03% win on the account. Bah!
Most of the short plays only dipped as low as the middle band, so the remaining half-positions were closed at break even. The last long position is still left open, so I’m hopeful there’s a chance for another win.
