I’ve rounded up FOUR mechanical forex strategies right here to see how they performed recently. Take a look!
I’ve got a neat systems snapshot table for their latest performance down below, but keep in mind that the time periods and some trading assumptions vary among my fellow FX-Men.
HLHB Trend-Catcher System
SMA Crossover Pullback
Robopip’s newbie-friendly SMA Crossover Pullback trading system is as simple as its name suggests. This strategy features an SMA crossover method to gauge the trend and a Stochastic pullback entry signal on the 1-hour charts of EUR/USD, GBP/USD, and EUR/JPY.It wasn’t exactly the best of runs for this mech system as it snagged full losses on both EUR/USD and EUR/JPY.
New positions were triggered on EUR/USD and GBP/USD, but these haven’t been opened long enough to hit any exit levels.
With that, the system closed another week in the red with a 450-pip or 3% loss. Ouch! Read more.
Short-Term Bollinger Reversion Strategy 2.0
This strategy caught only one valid play for the week, but that didn’t stop it from scoring a pretty impressive win. As it turned out, the short position on USD/CAD hit both profit targets and scored a 138-pip or 2.76% gain. Read more.
Inside Bar Momentum Strategy 2.0Another tried-and-tested system is Robopip’s Inside Bar Momentum Strategy 2.0 which monitors purely candlestick price action, free of any technical indicators, on the 4-hour charts of GBP/JPY and USD/JPY.
There were plenty of inside bar patterns seen on both pairs throughout the week, but only a few valid signals had their entries triggered.
