So much for that hawkish FOMC statement! The minutes of the September meeting revealed that there were still plenty of doubts among policymakers, convincing dollar bulls to retreat. 

The pound returned some of its previous day gains when U.K. Finance Minister Hammond emphasized the uncertainties Brexit could bring to the economy.

The euro gained a bit more confidence to edge higher after Catalan leader Puigdemont called for dialogue instead of independence while the dollar stalled on roadblocks to U.S. tax reform.

London session traders seemed to brush political uncertainty in the U.K. and the euro zone aside, allowing the pound and the euro to score some pips off positive data.

A pretty active day for Asian session forex traders, as they priced in an Australian business survey and a bit of profit-taking on the Greenback.

Major pairs struggled to establish a clear direction as U.S. banks were closed in observance of Columbus Day while Canadians were out celebrating Thanksgiving Day.

Trading conditions were relatively tight during today’s morning London session, with many pairs trading sideways. However, GBP was clearly on the move.

It was a pretty subdued day for Asian session trading, as Japan, Taiwan, and South Korea greeted the week with holidays.

GBP took hits and was the worst-performing currency of them all. But what caused GBP to tank? And if GBP was the weakest, then which currency was the strongest? Time to find out!

Trading conditions were rather tight ahead of the U.S. NFP report. It wasn’t a complete snooze fest, though, since AUD was in recovery mode while NZD felt selling pressure.
