HLHB Weekly Update – May 22, 2013

A lot of signals materialized last week. That means only one thing… A lot of fakeouts! I’m thankful that the HLHB Trend-Catcher 3.0 was able to minimize losses and only end up with a 17 pip loss.

EUR/USD

It was a breakeven week for the HLHB Trend-Catcher on EUR/USD. The RSI was able to filter out fakeouts, however, it also kept the system from jumping in on a good trade that could have been a big winner! But oh well, I guess it’s better than scoring a loss.

1. Invalid long signal since RSI was still below 50.0.
2. Invalid short signal since RSI was already below 50.0 prior the crossover.
3. Long at 1.2984. Closed at 1.2948 when 50-pip trailing stop was hit. -36 pips.

Total Gain/Loss: -17 pips.

Small loss for the week, but I’m still happy as it was able to filter out a lot of invalid trades. As for the bad trades that the system took, the winning trades made up for them… Well, almost.

Let’s see what this week will bring!

XOXO,

Huck
