Measures
The French Manufacturing Purchasing Manager's Index (PMI) measures the activity level of purchasing managers in the manufacturing sector. A reading above 50 indicates expansion in the sector; a reading below 50 indicates contraction. There are 2 versions of this report released about a week apart: Flash and Final. The Flash release is the earliest and thus tends to have the most impact.
Usual Effect
A higher than expected reading should be taken as positive/bullish for the EUR, while a lower than expected reading should be taken as negative/bearish for the EUR.
