Measures
The Services Purchasing Managers Index (PMI) captures business conditions in the services sector. As the services sector dominates a large part of total GDP, the services PMI is an important indicator of the overall economic condition in France. Above 50.0 indicates industry expansion, below indicates contraction. There are 2 versions of this report released about a week apart: Flash and Final. The Flash release is the earliest and thus tends to have the most impact.
Usual Effect
A higher than expected reading should be taken as positive/bullish for the EUR , while a lower than expected reading should be taken as negative/bearish for the EUR.
