Main Trend

Current Trend= The trend remained up the entire day.

Today I only looked for long trades.

Today's Surf

12:00 am ET; 2:45 am ET - There were moving average crossovers for long trades but MACD was already positive which cancelled out the signal. No entry.

Trade Result: +0 pips

I was like totally stoked to ride the waves today but unfortunately I missed out on one gnarly wave. Oh well dudes, you can't catch them all. We'll have to wait until next week. Party on!

What is your macd setting? Mine is the normal 12, 26, 9 --but my histogram looks different than yours. For the 15 min chart cross over mentioned above in your post, my histgroam was negative and moving up which triggered a long position. Yours however did not and you missed about a 100 pip rise that occured in the Gbp. -- cheers.
Yea my MACD histogram settings are 12,26,9 and they are always different from your charts. My histogram was negative too on that big run. I dont understand why the same indicators are not the same on different charts.
The histogram shown is the signal line, you are both displaying the wrong histogram, though not all charting will allow you to plot the signal line as a histogram. so just use the signal line.
How do you you (set up) a single line histogram?
Nevermind, I do use a single line histogram, and mine also was neg at the cross-over.
I guess the biggest hint to break out here was the inside days of last week until the last two days of the week. I mean its not normal for such a tight trading range for the day on GBP/USD, it was bound to break north of 1.9400 especially with all the news of the sub prime lenders, anyway I missed this trade too, but I caught the inside days.
Hey dudes. I checked my MACD settings and I have an option to set it to simple or exponent. When I set it on simple it does show a negative MACD during the signal because it tends to move faster than an exponent MACD. I opt to use the exponent MACD because it keeps me out of whipsaws. The trade off is that sometimes I miss super awesome trades like this one. If you missed it like I did, don't be bummed. There will always be another trade out there. And cowabunga to all those that caught the move. The Cable has been totally wacked out lately so it was good to see it move like normal again on Friday.
