HLHB System Update (April 20 – 24, 2015)

Another mixed forex trading week for the HLHB System! This time potential profits from EUR/USD and GBP/USD were mostly choked by trailing stops. Eep!

The HLHB System did a pretty good job catching a few pips despite the pair still showing fakeouts. Most of the action happened early in the week with three winning trades and two losing trades translating to a net gain of 19 pips. Not bad for a not-so-trending week for EUR/USD!

GBP/USD’s first signal would’ve been yielded tons of pips if it hadn’t hit the system’s trailing stop. Unfortunately for the HLHB System, signal #2’s loss was bigger than signal #1’s gain. This translated to a net loss of 3 pips for the week. Better luck next time, huh?

# Signal Open Close Pips Notes
1 Buy 1.4905 1.4923 18 Trailing stop hit
2 Buy 1.5054 1.5033 -21 New crossover
3 Sell 1.5033 1.5033 0 RSI was already below 50
4 Buy 1.5054 1.5054 0 RSI was already above 50

Not a bad week, I think. It wouldn’t hurt to have a trending week this week though. My fingers and toes are crossed! 🙂

Hey! According to the mechanics of the crossover system, your EUR/USD
signal #6 could have made the 200 pips in 5 days. You say the RSI was
already above 50, but it wasn’t. The previous candle’s RSI was 48! So
there was a MA crossover AND a RSI crossover after the 8am candle. Was it just missed by accident, or am I wrong? Thanks for all your expertise as well! Greatly appreciated.

Hi Huck! Thank you very much for your blog, it’s really interesting!
How are your moving average set? I thought you had them on 5 sma + 10 sma but it doesn’t seem like it.
