For the traders out there hoping for a more convenient way to access your MT4 trading account without having to install software or buy a PC, the forex gods have heard your prayers! MetaTrader has just released the MT4 Client Build Terminal 880, which is a fancy name for the web version of its famous MT4 forex platform.
That means you’ll be able to access your MT4 account right from your shiny gold MacBook Pro in all its Retina display glory! Ooh, pixels…
If you’re already using the Windows OS, you no longer have to worry about the MT4 terminal software eating up a large chunk of memory space since you’ll be able to access the platform right from your browser.
According to MetaTrader’s release notes, the account trading history, graphical objects, and analytical features can all be accessed on the web platform. In addition, any transmitted information is encrypted, ensuring account safety and security.
This feature can be accessed through the Trading section of the MQL5 community website by providing your login name and email address.
Upon logging in using the password sent to your email address, you can be able to add a forex trading account by entering your account info, broker name and server.
However, not all forex brokers are supporting this new interface just yet, as it is offered only on demo accounts of the MetaQuotes-Demo server for now. I guess you’ll just have to wait for your broker to update its server to enable the web trading option. Hmm, I wonder if nagging helps…
Also, only the basic functions such as real-time quotes, market and pending orders, customizable price charts, nine time frames, and simple analytical objects are currently available. What’s pretty neat is that multiple forex trading accounts can be added and managed through the User Profile page – something that will definitely come in handy for those using separate accounts for various automated forex trading systems. MetaTrader noted that the features will be further expanded so I’ll keep y’all posted!
